CMC Rocks North QLD Second line-up announcement!

Rob Potts Entertainment Edge, Chugg Entertainment and Foxtel’s Country Music Channel (CMC) are thrilled to announce that Aussie hell-raisers Adam Brand, McAlister Kemp, Buddy Goode, The Wolfe Brothers, Jayne Denham and Doug Bruce and the Tailgaters will complete the massive artist lineup for the CMC Rocks North QLD 2013 one-day festival at Reid Park, Townsville.
These in-demand artists will join previously announced international superstars, Alan Jackson (USA), Sara Evans (USA), and Corb Lund (CAN), along with local artists, Jasmine Rae and Morgan Evans. The festival will be held on Saturday 28 September 2013.
12-time Golden Guitar winner ADAM BRAND is one of our most-requested artists, with a string of acclaimed albums and hit singles, including Dirt Track Cowboys, Get Loud and There Will Be Love, winning him a passionate fanbase, who voted him CMC Oz Artist of the Year for five years running. His dynamic on-stage presence extends beyond music – he also won Australian television’s, Dancing With The Stars, in 2009.
McALISTER KEMP is one of the hottest acts in Australian country. A rowdy, quintessentially Australian duo, Drew McAlister and Troy Kemp have built up a loyal following around the country for their high-energy live shows and party anthems including Country Proud, Hell Yeah and Cold Beer Hot Women. The former CMC New Oz Artists of the Year are a festival favourite throughout Oz and toured as special guests of Alan Jackson on his first 2011 sold-out Australian tour.
Current ARIA-winning icon, BUDDY GOODE, is quite simply a global country music comedy legend. The voice of multiple generations, and an inspiration to artists as different as Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus, the former American television variety host has made his home in Oz for the past few years. He is renowned for his classic hits, including Cougarville, Dickens Cider and the touching, Unforgiving Wind.
THE WOLFE BROS burst into people’s homes and hearts from their first appearance on television’s Australia’s Got Talent. The electrifying spirit of their live performances and catalogue of hooky original songs saw them take out second place in the grand final and took them from the best country act in Tasmania to a nation-wide favourite. In 2013, they released their debut album and hit the road with Oz country legend, Lee Kernaghan.
Song titles like Renegade, Addicted to the Diesel and Shake This Town showcase the spirit of JAYNE DENHAM. A road-hardened Aussie outlaw, Jayne has developed a style of music she calls ‘renegade country’, an honest, guitar-driven sound that has kept audiences glued to the stage in pubs, clubs and festivals throughout Australia. The award-winning singer-songwriter writes and sings the songs about the country she loves and the people on the land.
DOUG BRUCE AND THE TAILGATERS are the love child of Australia and America. Hailing from Texas, Doug Bruce made two big moves. First he moved from the drum kit to the front of the stage, plugging in his electric guitar and building a sound that’s been described as “two shots of Travis with a Haggard chaser”. Then six years ago, he moved to Australia. His new home has embraced him, sending his singles up the charts and cheering his many appearances on festival stages.
The festival will be hosted by MIKE CARR, the charismatic hit singer/songwriter who has acted as master of ceremonies since the first CMC Rocks event in 2008.
“A festival of this magnitude is so exciting to be a part of, and a true testament to the strength of the genre here in Australia”, said promoter, Michael Chugg. “This  event gets so much worldwide recognition; seen by the calibre of international acts that want to be a part of it. And now to announce this huge billing of local acts; there’s no denying that country is king!”
Promoter, Rob Potts, added, “We know how much Queenslanders love to party!” And, after a tough couple of years, this latest group of Aussie artists is sure to bring the party alive in North Queensland”.
Now in its sixth year, the CMC Rocks festival brand has established itself as the biggest International Country & Roots Festival brand outside of North America. The festivals draw fans from all states and territories in Australia and overseas to both the Hunter Valley NSW and Townsville QLD.
The previous CMC Rocks North QLD was held in 2010 and featured international headliner, Tim McGraw (USA).
Make sure you’re part of the CMC Rocks North QLD once-in-a-lifetime experience in 2013, featuring international headliner, Alan Jackson (USA)!
