2 more shows added for Dolly Parton

The Queen of Country reigns supreme and declares November the month of Dolly! Following on from the triumphant launch back in June of Dolly Parton’s Australian leg of the Better Day Tour, Rob Potts Entertainment Edge is thrilled to confirm that new shows will be added to the tour.

In addition to her run of dates across the nation – including sellout shows in Sydney and Brisbane – Dolly Parton will be playing additional shows; a third performance a Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Thursday 1st December as well as third show in Brisbane on Sunday 27th November at the Entertainment Centre.

In her first solo tour here in nearly thirty years, it is clear that her fans down under have gone wild for Ms Parton and the craze that comes with such excitement. Country fans, indie kids and Dollyites alike have all come out to welcome one of the most iconic female performers of our generation.

Taking to the stage with a unique show offering brand new production, lighting and video, fans can expect to see the most honoured female country performer of all time reel out hits like 9 To 5, Here You Come Again, Jolene, and of course the incomparable I Will Always Love You. With all new sets, costumes and even new music from her new album Better Day (released nationally this Friday), it is sure to make an evening spent with Dolly a night to remember.

For a taste of what to expect, tune into the Nine Network this Saturday 27th August in the afternoon to see Dolly Live in London.

Dierks Bentley, Lee Kernaghan and other stars added to CMC Rocks the Hunter 2012

Less than a week ago, news broke that US megastars TIM MCGRAW and FAITH HILL (USA) will be headlining CMC Rocks the Hunter 2012. Now, Rob Potts Entertainment Edge, Chugg Entertainment and XYZ Networks have announced eight more big names who will be rocking the  Hope Estate over March 16 - 18 next year.
Aussie audiences went crazy for DIERKS BENTLEY (USA) when he joined Brooks & Dunn on their sold-out 2009 Australian arena tour. Since he rocketed onto the country landscape in 2003, the chiselled hitmaker has earned a reputation as one of the most electrifying live acts in music today, with a string of chart topping hits and album sales climbing over 5 million in the US.

20 years of incredible hits have cemented LEE KERNAGHAN as the modern-day King of Australian Country Music. He has criss-crossed the country countless times and his fans keep coming back for more of his patented brand of hard rocking, uniquely Australian country. Lee will release his 2-CD “Ultimate Hits” package in September, featuring his hit duet and video with Dierks Bentley, “Scars”.
The ELI YOUNG BAND (USA) honed their skills as an Eagles-esque live force in the Texas Red Dirt scene, building up an enviable fan following, before breaking into the mainstream country scene with their album, “Level”, in 2005. They’re riding high in the US right now with their fastest rising single to date, “Crazy Girl”, (recently certified Gold) and are eager to bring down the house on their first ever Australian trip.
A gravel-tainted voice and poetic lyrical sensibility form the distinctive musical identity of TEX PERKINS. In almost 30 years of writing and performing, Perkins has featured as part of the legendary Aussie rock outfits, Cruel Sea, and The Beasts of Bourbon. Now, he has stamped his own spin on Johnny Cash-country with his band, THE DARK HORSES, who will be joining him on stage at the Hunter in March.
CRAIG CAMPBELL (USA) is the newest star to put a fresh take on the traditional country sound, which has seen him race up the US charts with the heartfelt “Family Man” and his current smash hit, the cheeky “Fish”. The singer-songwriter’s warm baritone and laconic sense of humour has seen comparisons to Alan Jackson, and the Georgian is sure to be embraced by Aussie crowds at the Festival.
Americana icon, JIM LAUDERDALE (USA), is equally at home at the Grand Ole Opry as he is touring Europe with Elvis Costello. Jim has written hits for George Strait, Patty Loveless and Gary Allan, but his own albums encompasses a mix of blues, rock, bluegrass,  country and whimsy. Known for his energetic and soulful stage presence, CMC Rocks the Hunter 2012 will be Jim’s fourth trip down under.
With his imposing physique, larger than life personality, and outrageous videos, COLT FORD (USA) stands out, even before you get to his music, a unique take on country with a hip-hop twist. Not afraid to be controversial, Ford’s music is uncompromising and his concerts captivating. His fans and collaborators include Jason Aldean, Charlie Daniels and one of this year’s headliners, Tim McGraw.
SHANE NICHOLSON started out as the lead singer of rock band, “Pretty Violet Stain”, before he broke out on his own with his blend of country and folk-rock. His album collaboration with wife, Kasey Chambers, “Rattlin’ Bones”, was showered in awards and critical praise, which has continued with Shane’s new solo album, “Bad Machines”. .
In a first for 2012, the promoters have announced the inclusion of a main stage program on Friday 16 March from 4pm to 11pm. The festival will continue through Saturday and Sunday, when TIM McGRAW and FAITH HILL (USA) will close the proceedings.
Once again, camping will be available on site at Hope Estate. Festival organisers have responded to audience feedback by expanding the number of sites, increasing amenities and discarding the requirement for a camper’s bond.
The Camper’s Bar will be back in action again on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, following the conclusion of the main stage program.
Tickets are on sale now, with limited one-day tickets available, as well as the weekend passes. Despite the addition of an extra seven hours of Friday night main-stage programming, the promoters are pleased to be able to keep ticket prices at the same level as in 2011.
In another first, the promoters have also introduced a “Time to Pay” option for ticket buyers, where tickets can be ordered immediately, with payments spread over several months.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill to headline CMC Rocks the Hunter 2012

Rob Potts Entertainment Edge, Chugg Entertainment and XYZ Networks are thrilled to announce that international superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will be headlining CMC Rocks the Hunter 2012 festival at Hope Estate.

For pre-sale access, sign up to the Red Carpet club by 9am Wednesday 10 August. Click here to sign up.
This will be Faith Hill’s first concert in Australia, and the first time the power couple has performed together outside of North America. Their US tours have broken box office records in 2000 and again in 2006-7, when it grossed $141 million. Over 1.6 million people attended shows in the US and Canada and Pollstar Magazine chose it as ‘Major Tour of 2006’ over tours by The Rolling Stones and Madonna.
McGraw first visited Oz in 2010 with his Southern Voice tour, one of the biggest country tours in Australian history. His sold-out arena shows and headline performance at CMC Rocks North Queensland received rave reviews. Sydney fans were treated to a surprise appearance by Hill, who celebrated her birthday by joining her husband for a stunning performance of their duet ‘I Need You’.
Michael Chugg said, “We have been sitting on this news for a while and I’m thrilled that we can now announce it. This festival is growing bigger and stronger every year and what better way to see CMC rocking the Hunter in 2012 than with this awesome pair! Tim’s show in 2010 was an absolute knockout and we can only expect another killer show when he takes the stage with his better half.”
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have been topping the charts since the early 90s, and have 70 million record sales, 8 Grammys and 46 number one singles between them. The couple will be performing their own massive hits as well as duets such as ‘Let’s Make Love’ and ‘I Need You’.
“This is as big as it gets”, said festival co-promoter Rob Potts. “McGraw has been talking about coming back since the end of his last tour and we couldn’t think of a better gift to the fans than delivering two of the biggest stars in music at one festival”.
Now in its fifth year, CMC Rocks the Hunter festival has established itself as the biggest International Country & Roots Festival outside of North America. One of the premiere events on the Australian music calendar, it brings together the best international and local country and roots performers in a beautiful location.
Previous years have seen performances by Alan Jackson, Taylor Swift, John Butler Trio, Kasey Chambers, Sugarland, Joe Nichols, Gary Allan, Pete Murray, Ian Moss, John Williamson, Jack Ingram and The Waifs.

In a first for 2012, the promoters have announced the inclusion of a main stage program on Friday 16 March from 4pm to 11pm. The festival will continue through Saturday and Sunday, when Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will close the proceedings.
A second announcement, revealing more of the festival line-up, will be released on Sunday 14 August.
Tickets go on sale Monday 15 August at 10am with limited one-day tickets available.

Dolly Parton Tour TV Episode #2 is live!

“Within minutes of announcing her first shows here since the 80s, every indie kid, drag queen and their grandmother was squealing with delight.” Kathy McCabe, The Daily Telegraph

“The music legend is back!” Womans Day

“Dolly Parton makes you feel better about life; she’s self made, good hearted, gorgeous, but a fantasy girl too.” Deborah Cameron, ABC 702 FM

In June of this year, word of Dolly Parton’s November tour set the Australian media alight, with the general public not far behind causing a huge stir in the online world. Following on from the headlines created from one of the most anticipated tour announcements this year, we are thrilled to confirm news of an exclusive webisode series that will feature never-before-seen footage of Dolly Parton.

The first episode of the 14 part series, aptly named Dolly Parton Tour TV will be released exclusively online on each Sunday until the week before she arrives in Australia.

Narrated by Dolly herself, these webisodes will cover the full spectrum of the Queen of Country’s history, from her family life and career beginnings singing on local radio in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains, to her musical influences, personal stories and an exclusive behind the scenes look into the recording of her latest album, Better Days, released in Australia in late August. In never before seen footage, Dolly Tour TV will explore Dolly as a philanthropist, gay icon and astute businesswoman, with a tour of Dollywood, interviews with the Dollyites, a look inside her tour bus, and footage of band rehearsals. The series explores these vastly varied aspects to Dolly’s life and how each of them have shaped the performer she is today.

Combining exclusive footage filmed in Nashville in May of this year as well as an audio-visual tour through her long history, the series will offer fans a rare opportunity to see Dolly Parton as they’ve never seen her before; a rare insight into the idiosyncrasies of this remarkable woman and artist.

To see new episodes of Dolly Parton Tour TV, become a fan of Rob Potts Entertainment Edge on Facebook or check the Dolly page on our website every Sunday night.
Tickets for the tour are still on sale through Ticketek. Click here to buy.

Jasmine Rae Gets Real About Faking It

http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/entertainment/a/-/music/9965805/rae-gets-real-about-faking-it/

ARA JANSEN, The West Australian August 3, 2011, 1:00 pm

There's plenty of mischief in Jasmine Rae's voice when she talks about her new song I Faked It. "Every time you thought that you were king of the night/Surprise - that's right, I faked it," she taunts in the song.
Rae says she's leaving all her ex-boyfriends to wonder whether she has indeed, ahem, faked it.
The Melbourne city girl who loves country music says her new single almost didn't make it on to her second and latest album, Listen Here. It wasn't until her family and friends urged her to record it that she gave it a whirl.
"The fact that they all thought I should be singing this song was worrying," Rae laughs. "Who do you think I am? That was a little bit of a sting.
"But we've all had a bad break-up with a guy that turned out to be a liar and what could be more cathartic than bruising his ego with some home truths? I do love singing the song and I have faked it. I just like making my exes sweat over it."
Even the old "I'll call you" after an average date is enough of a fake moment in the award-winning singer's book. The song is really about those things that people are scared to say - you do need to go on a diet or you can't cook a steak.
"I'd feel exhausted if I had to fake an orgasm all the time but if my guy loved cricket and I didn't, I'd fake it," she says.
While Rae didn't pen I Faked It - it was written by Nashville songwriters Jamie Paulin, John Kennedy and Rachel Bradshaw - the song still carries the wonderful tough but sassy attitude of her songs, such as 2008's Pink Guitar and last year's Hunky Country Boys.
To launch the single, Rae teamed up with Brisbane blog site The Chronicles of Verity Blackwell, which ran a survey revealing Aussie country girls are about 10 per cent more likely to fake it than those from the cities. It also found that two-thirds of country girls admit to having faked it in the past with a surprising one in three admitting to faking it on a regular basis.
It's not all bad news for country blokes though, because the question of whether size does matter had 59 per cent of city women responding yes but only 34 per cent of rural women agreeing.
Apparently 61 per cent of rural women are also far more satisfied with their sex lives compared with just 47 per cent in the city.
The question they didn't ask though was how many women really like their mother-in-laws. Now who's faking it?
I Faked It is out now on iTunes.
